We are Bob and Sue Sorensen, owners of a small horse ranch in Acton, Ca. where we raise, breed, train and sell ranch and trail horses. Bob is from Texas and has been riding and working with horses since his childhood. He learned colt breaking in Arizona, horseshoeing and ranch work in Texas, team roping and steer wrestling in California, Arizona and Nevada. It's no wonder he turned to horse ranching. Sue is from New York and rode horses frequently as a young woman but as with most people work got in the way and she was away from horses for a while. After meeting and marrying Bob she again rekindled her love of horses and trail riding. Thus began Lone Star Ranch,
We started our venture with two beautiful well bred mares (an APHA registered paint and AQHA registered buckskin). We also had a young, fresh broke, black Mustang, named Sally. We sold the Buckskin and Mustang and purchased a AQHA black mare (turned liver chestnut). Both the Paint and the Quarter are great trail horses and the Quarter is a wonderful working ranch horse. We intend to breed them, at a later date, to outside stallions for disposition, conformation and color. We also have a black and white Pinto (Peruvian X) trail horse and a couple of miniature horses that are ranch mascots.
